Saw all the 5 star reviews on ****** but couldn't find a place to listen to the system. Of all places, I found a demo system at the local Sears store. There is a display with a built in soundtrack and sound projection's quite impressive so I bought one for a test run at home. I am an audio geek and own a Mcintosh two channel system in my living room. Wanted a simple surround sound system for bedroom to watch movies with. Anyone who's on a budget but want to hear hi-fidelity sound should definitely give this system a try. The surround is excellent with a good balance between highs, mids and bass. It is on par if not better than some of those much higher priced products I have auditioned at Magnolia.
Extremely pleased with my purchase. Bought a new top of the line Samsung 55" HDTV. I got rid of my older Dolby 5.1 Yamaha surround receiver and 5 Polk speakers + wireless subwoofer. Decided to get a new system without having to manage different components. Did some research and noticed this may be the only 7.1 system in the market. Wow, I am very impressed. Took about 10 minutes to setup, didn't have to run wires across the room since the rear satellites are connected to the wireless subwoofer in the back of the room. The system also comes with all necessary cables in the box, how convenient. Played some BluRay movies and Netflix streaming of Dare Devil Season 2. Completely blown away by the surround sound.
This sound bar is really good. Setup was easy even though the sound bar came with rear speakers, taking me only 5 min, and I could dive right into listening to it. The surround sound is amazing and makes you feel like you are in the middle of whatever movie you are watching. Sound quality is great, I can hear all the details very clearly and the bass is just nice, it can play very deep sounds but does not boom and can also give you the nice hits and rumbles. I have honestly never listened to a home theater system that can match the surround sound and sound quality of this. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to buy a high quality surround sound system.
Pros: 1. Great sound quality
- I'm particularly impressed with the sound quality of Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro. You can hear everything very clearly; the highs, mids, dialogue, and even the lowest of frequencies. I like the sound balance because the bass does not overpower the mids and highs, but is still able to produce the kicks and punches that enhance the home theater experience. I'm also amazed by the surround sound. With this sound bar, movies sound very realistic as you can hear all the details very clearly and accurately.
2. Easy set up
- Set up only takes a few minutes. All I had to do was plug the sound bar and subwoofer to power, and the satellite speakers to the subwoofer (the cables are included).
3. Lots of connectivity options and comes with a lot of accessories
- There are a lot of connectivity options available. I was pleased that it offered HDMI 4k pass through. It also comes with a lot of accessories so for those who want to upgrade the way you watch your movies, check what accessories in the Shockwafe box before you think of buying any.
I’m very impressed with the surround sound and sound quality of this soundbar. Setup was extremely easy despite having 7 channels. I do not have to run wires across the room which is a big plus. I have never listened to a home theater system that has better surround sound than this. I spent a lot of time deciding between the Nakamichi and Vizio’s sb4051 which is a 5.1 system. Therefore, I bought both and honestly think the Nakamichi is superior. For obvious reasons, surround sound and sound quality are 2 of the most important things I am looking for in a sound bar system. I am not an audiophile by any means but I can hear the difference between the two systems, both in music, netflix and bluray movies. The Nakamichi has clearer dialog, better bass and surround effects. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a simple surround sound solution.
This is by far the best audio gear I've ever owned. I've been looking for a good sound bar that is multi-channel preferably and reasonably priced. This sound bar exceeded all of my expectations, it has SO MUCH BASS that my neighbors a few houses down can hear when I'm watching a movie or listen to my music. Absolutely in love with it!
I’m very impressed with the surround sound and sound quality of this Nakamichi soundbar. Really like the sound of this. Very clear mids which makes the dialogue in movies very clear. The bass goes very deep but remains clear with little or no distortion. Awesome surround sound too. The speakers at the sides of the sound bar, as Nakamichi advertises, make everything sound more realistic. It’s like you can tell the direction of every sound. I’m very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended.
Decided to upgrade the sound system at home from a 2.1 to a 5.1 but came across the Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro, which was priced like a 5.1. Suited my budget very well. Though initially cautious about the quality given the current pricing, installing and testing the system proved positive. The set-up itself was easy enough: just plug and go - it's straightforward. The surround sound was good - it puts you in the thick of the action. Works well on classical music also; very pleased with the highly refined sound quality: solid bass (not overpowering) and fine treble. Worth buying.
Researched for quite some time and this Nakamichi one really fit my needs. Not sure why there are so little true 5.1 soundbars out there in the market. This is the only true 7.1 based on my findings. Setup was simple enough, although there was an instructional video to help me along. I really like the sound. It’s really clear with very deep bass, and the surround sound is incredible. Love watching movies and feeling like I'm at the theater. Also have it setup to listen to music through BT. When I walk in the door, it will automatically connects and the sound will go from my headphones to the shockwafe, what a difference! I will highly recommend this soundbar to anyone in the market looking for a simple, good sounding theater system without breaking the bank.
I ordered the Nakamichi Shockwafe sound bar and received it in perfect condition and on time. I usually dread setting up new electronics but I have to say that this Nakamichi sound bar system was incredibly easy to install and we were enjoying the incredible sound within minutes. The system itself has sleek styling and extremely high quality materials and construction.
I received my Shockwafe Pro about a week ago. Out of the box, it was relatively easy to set up (got it set up and working within 10 minutes)...What struck me at first was the solid sound projection on various content, news, sports, movies, etc. At the same time, the bass response was smooth and not boomy (I was able to play with the subwoofer settings quite a bit), even in an untreated room at the maximum level of the subwoofer (overall volume was at 40, and can go up to 100, which is very loud). Also, the mids (for eg. gunshots/Chinese sword fights) did not pierce my ears, despite the sound being relatively loud.
