The Dragon is an outstanding sound system! I have owned the Dragon since launch! I own a LG C9 77”, PS5 Pro, AppleTV 4K and a Panasonic UB9000 4K blu-ray player connected to the Dragon with HDMI 2.1 With having these devices I was looking for a plug & play sound system that would match the visual quality and enhance my overall experience! The Dragon did that and then raised the bar with my content significantly! Once you configure the Dragon for your space there is no contest! Enjoy the AMT tweeters for music and vocal clarity! No sound bar beats the richness of this sound! The actually overall power (3000W) is crazy with no distortion at any volume! Previous I owned A Samsung HW-Q90R which was a nice soundbar but is not compare to the Dragon. The Dragon has exceptional highs, mids, and bass, creating an phenomenal atmospheric sound. The surround sound it creates is like no other for video games streaming and 4k blu-rays. Also if love listening to uncompressed music or watching concerts on Apple Music or Spotify or an Apple TV with Dolby Atmos the Dragon is an Audiophile’s dream! It is like being at a concert! The next Nakamichi upgrade for me is 12” subs… All I can say if you want to really enjoy all of your media then buy the Dragon it is worth every penny. It’s been two and a half years since I bought the Dragon, and the pure enjoyment I get from it hasn’t changed at all… The Dragon is the One! I love how immersive the Dragon makes every movie. Dolby Atmos action scenes reel you in and horror scenes creep you out a little bit more with tactile bass you have to experience to believe. I have one 12” sub and a pair of 8’s. Thinking of adding another 12” to fully experience the pure joy movie watching has become because of it. I’ve paired my Dragon system with Kaleidescape and have been very happy with the combination. No major issues. All love for this Nakamichi masterpiece. Room is 12ft x 18ft, 135” projector screen, Epson 5050ub projector and seats by Valencia.

Have had a great experience with the dragon system. My system happens to be 1-500 initial shipments so I have enjoyed it from the beginning. I would say that if you are slightly to moderately nerdy, you will love this interface which gives you a lot of control of different parameters rather than plugging in a microphone and the system calibrating itself. Also enjoy the passion of the the company, the team at Nakamichi is very proud of their creation and is constantly iterating and making it better.

#### Is DRAGON a single or dual voltage system?
DRAGON is a dual voltage home cinema surround system that supports both 110-120V and 220-240V. When using DRAGON outside of the USA, you will only need plug adapters for your wall sockets.
#### Does the 12" subwoofer work outside the US?
Yes, there is a voltage selector on the 12" subwoofer. Before connecting the subwoofer to power, slide the voltage selector to the correct setting for your country.
United States: 115V (DEFAULT)
Europe / United Kingdom: 230V (Countries with 220-240V AC)
Damage resulting from incorrect voltage selection is not covered by warranty.
#### Is there any calibration feature available?
Calibrate the system for best surround performance by entering the distances of the main unit, surround speakers and subwoofers to the sweet spot via the On-Screen Display (OSD). You can also calibrate volume levels.
#### I am unable to place the main unit/surround speakers at ear level when I am seated. Can I still enjoy the best audio performance from DRAGON?
The main unit and the bottom speaker driver of the surround speakers should ideally be at ear level for an optimized experience when using DRAGON. However, DRAGON is the world's first plug-and-play home surround sound system that uses AMT tweeters.
AMT tweeters not only reproduce detailed clarity with pinpoint accuracy, they also produce sound that is dispersed over a wider area. This ensures a more spacious soundstage and makes the Nakamichi DRAGON less placement fussy than other solutions, giving you more freedom to position each speaker according to your room setup.
This would mean that you should still be able to enjoy the experience even with the main unit or surround speakers positioned slightly above or below ear level.
#### Are the surround speakers wireless? Do they have built-in batteries?
The Omni-Motion Reference Surrounds connect wirelessly to the main unit but each speaker must be plugged into a wall socket for power.
#### If I play older movies or regular music content, will I get surround sound?
Yes, DRAGON utilizes Dolby upmixing technologies to optimize and upmix surround performance to 11.x.6 channels, allowing surround sound to be played through all speakers.
#### Does DRAGON support 4K120Hz?
As DRAGON supports up to 4K120Hz, you can connect high-bandwidth devices directly to any of its 3 HDMI inputs. The system is capable of transmitting 4K120Hz/8K60Hz to your TV, with Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+, VRR, ALLM and FRL passthrough.
#### How many subwoofers can you pair with DRAGON?
Up to 4 subwoofer cabinets can be paired with the DRAGON Home Surround Sound System.
Possible subwoofer configurations:
\- A pair of Dual-Opposing 8" Subwoofers
\- Two pairs of Dual-Opposing 8" Subwoofers
\- Single/Dual/Triple/Quad 12" Subwoofers

#### If I have a DRAGON with 2 x Dual-Opposing 8" Subwoofers and purchase the Modular 12" Subwoofer Expansion, will it improve my experience?
Yes. The 12" subwoofer will transform your current system's low-frequency output, delivering a richer and more powerful bass experience. Additionally, the system will dynamically adapt its output based on the paired subwoofers.
For ultimate sound personalization, you can precisely adjust the volume level of each subwoofer type using the On-Screen Display (OSD).
#### Should I upgrade my firmware if I have not purchased any modular expansion subwoofer(s)?
Our latest firmware update brings AHD Ultra to all DRAGON systems, alongside support for modular 12" subwoofer pairing. If you have not yet updated, follow the instructions on our [support page](https://www.support.nakamichi-usa.com/dragon/firmware-upgrade) to do so.
#### Will I need to upgrade my firmware if I purchase a modular subwoofer expansion (e.g. 12" subwoofer)?
If your system was purchased from the Nakamichi Official Web Store after April 2026, it should already be running the firmware required for modular subwoofer pairing. A USB drive with compatible firmware is included with every modular subwoofer expansion purchase in case an update is needed.
#### Are stands available for the DRAGON surround speakers?
Yes, DRAGON Speaker Stands are available for purchase from the Nakamichi Official Web Store [here](https://www.nakamichi-usa.com/accessories/dragon-surround-speaker-stands). Wall mounts are also available and sold separately.
Note: DRAGON Speaker Stands are not compatible with Shockwafe Wireless.
#### Can I audition DRAGON in a store?
Currently, there is no in-store auditioning of DRAGON available. DRAGON ships directly from Nakamichi's Official Web Store, Amazon, and Best Buy (USA) or B&H (international).

#### My TV has no HDMI ARC port. Can I still use it with DRAGON?
Yes, you can still connect your TV, as long as it has an Optical output port. Use an optical cable (sold separately) to connect it to DRAGON's Optical input.
#### What is AHD?
